EU Firearms Directive Reform Convention – 2016/11/16
Brussels, European Parliament, November 16th 2016.
Organized by the European Conservatives and Reformists group, Liberals and Democrats for Europe Group, EPP group and Firearms United in the European Parliament, over 200 people attended EU firearms directive reform convention, including numerous Members of Parliament.
Two Panel sessions with questions and answers time were scheduled. Speakers were, amongst others, Mr Alain Alexis, MEP Mrs Dita Charanzová, Katja Triebel and Mrs Vicky Ford. Moderation was in the hands of MEP Mr. Bernd Kölmel and MEP Mr. Jussi Halla-Aho.
FESAC was represented at this meeting by our Chairman Stephen Petroni, Treasurer Pit Kaiser, Secretary Hanny Spruijt, board member Frank Rodyns as well as several observers and consultants.
Stephen Petroni was invited as a speaker in the panel at the second session. He made a presentation about the importance of the recognized collector to the preservation of a large and interesting piece of our history, and the impact of the European Directive on collecting.
In the Q&A session he got the opportunity to explain how the political agenda of the European Committee is greatly influencing the Directive proposal.
